DC OneApp

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education makes it easy for District residents to apply for the four District of Columbia Higher Education Grants using the one online application called the DC OneApp.

DC Tuition Assistance Grant (DCTAG)

DCTAG provides eligible District of Columbia residents with up to $10,000 per academic to use toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at public colleges/universities nationwide. DCTAG also provides up to $2,500, per academic year, for private Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) nationwide, private colleges/universities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and up to $2,500, per academic year, toward the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at two-year community colleges.

DC College Access Program (DCCAP)

This nonprofit offers counseling and financial assistance to students who otherwise might not be able to attend college.

DC Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (DCLEAP)

DCLEAP is a needs-based grant available to eligible District of Columbia residents for postsecondary education.

DC Adoption Scholarship (DCAS)

DCAS provides up to $10,000, per academic year, for the postsecondary education of eligible District of Columbia students who are members of adoptive families; and/or eligible District of Columbia residents who lost one or both parents as a result of the events of September 11, 2001.

Postsecondary Program for Incarcerated Youth

This program provides eligible incarcerated participants with postsecondary instruction leading to an Associate or Baccalaureate degree. Eligible participants must be 19-25 years of age, within 1-5 years of release from prison, hold a high school diploma or GED, and be incarcerated at a designated penal facility. Life Skills training will also be offered to prepare these youth offenders for successful re-entry to the community upon release.
